Message from Marilyn Wolovick, Executive Director

Marilyn Wolovick Thank you for visiting the Many Rivers website. I welcome you as you explore the range of programs and services that we offer to the people of the Yukon and encourage you to call for more information. Please come to our many community events which we advertise in the papers and on the radio.

Our Association was formed in 1969 to provide counselling support for people going through troubled times. It started with one counsellor. We now have a staff of over 20, with counsellors, family educators and facilitators offering many different individual and group supports. These include family therapy, short term counselling, employee assistance counselling, marriage and relationship counselling, play therapy, parent support groups, supports for new mothers, the Fireweed Family Place for drop-in parenting support, personal growth workshops, and much much more.

Our staff work in 12 communities across the Yukon. We are proud of the high standard of education and training all our staff have. We also value their commitment to staying on top of current developments in their specialty fields.

Our work is to support anyone who is going through a difficult time or who just wants support for a period of their lives. Lots of people come once or twice. Some people come for months or years. We will be happy to work with you to figure out the best other service if we don't feel that Many Rivers is the best place for you to get service at the moment. We will never refuse service to anyone because of an inability to pay for services and many of our programs are free.

We encourage you to call and visit our offices and let us know how we might be part of your support network.

Kind regards,

Marilyn Wolovick
