Parent's Voices

The Parents Voices program was a project developed by Many Rivers in partnership with Kwanlin Dun Justice and Kwanlin Dun Health. We currently aren't running Parent's Voices as the funding ran out, but we are hoping to get it up and running again in the future. This program provided support for First Nations individuals through parenting circles. Parents experienced an opportunity for education, sharing commonalities and referrals were made to other services. The program was a 'drop-in' which offered a solution- based approach that highlighted the strengths of parents and families. It was open to both mothers and fathers. This program brought together a group of parents that wanted to create a healthy community for their children. Parents Voices gave them a chance to develop their social skills so that they became closer and were able to discuss issues facing them on a personal level. It also gave them a fun place to go to be with other parents in the community.
